Design Process: Step 4

Revisions

Design is a process. We have a saying, “It’s not written in stone until we get the chisel out”.

It is a rare thing when a design is completed and there are no changes. From the time it is drawn, until the last shovel is put away, something is likely to change. It may require the plan to be redrawn. It may require a red pen. It may only require a site adjustment. Change is inevitable. It’s just human nature. What is important is that you, the client, get the best possible outcome.

Change that is communicated early or is necessary, is a good thing. Change that is poorly timed or done for the sake of change is, well, expensive. Expensive is not good for either of us.
